Once again I head back to my hometown of Austin, Texas on the best plane out there, the mighty MD80!!! I made sure to get to the airport around 7 in the morning so that I could have plenty of time to get some plane spotting in. Once I'm on board the flight attendant gives me a big welcome, and then says I cant record.

Let me quote what she said to me, Sir you can't record. Come back here! I want to see you delete that. I said ok after she told me I couldn't with a smile on my face showing no hostility or attitude whatsoever. More about that down below. When I'm walking down the jet bridge and see that beautiful shining airframe, my excitement level jumps up big time! I love the simplicity, design and look of the interior to the lights and buttons above your head to the lavatories.

The smell of the cabin as well is just terrific. I chose my seat well in advance right next to those awesome JT8D's. I got a stunning view of the fan blades spinning inside which I've never seen before in an MD80! I took a visit to the cockpit after I found my seat but unfortunately my phone didn't record it. The captain and F/O were really great guys and let me have a great look around.

I showed them all I knew about the plane and learned some as well! The captain said to the F/0 that maybe I should fly us up to Chicago instead haha! I know how American pilots are with using idle reversers so I asked if they could go full reversers and said yes!

Boy did they deliver! The service on the flight was alright as always in economy and the flight was brilliant overall. A couple bumps here and there avoiding storms but mostly smooth air. They drinks service is starting to look a lot more like Delta's with the pretzels and coke napkins I saw which to me I really liked the AA napkins and I wish that they would serve a cookie or two instead and not do the same thing Delta is doing. Just my opinion.

One of my best flights to date and favorite landing yet! I hope to enjoy more Maddogs in the future!

I have checked the FAA, TSA, and airline policies on recording and there is no rule against it. For a flight attendant to tell me its not permitted and then literally get an attitude towards me, then we have problems. I have been flying with the airlines since I was 5 weeks old and over the years have flown on hundreds of aircraft and have seen that many other people have these problems as well.

Many flight attendants say that this rule of no recording is non existent and in the same airline as ones who have enforced it. I am an advantage member with American and for FA to get an attitude with me about this and glare and argue wit me about it is insulting and disgusting. It is the digital age and people take pictures and record all the time now.

I had an airport employee come up and tell me I was frightening him from taking a video because of terrorism. In the middle of freaking Texas!!!! Do not Make terrorism the blame of this matter its a weak excuse and how are terrorist going to use this to their plans? Maybe the airport thinks a guy like me is a terrorist? Look at my picture and you tell me if I resemble a jihad.
